I wish they sold these in the States. My neighbors would love this guy.

FYI, I have seen ‘long crow’ chickens for sale in the US... I don’t recall the breed name, but it seems like there are a couple different ones

I was looking up that Laughing Chicken and this CL listing for them near me came up... a little spendy for me, but apparently they are available in the US too

I bet if I routed my electric fence onto the roosts I could get the same effect without spending all that money for one bird. 😄

Well, I do use line.

I have friends that use line.

But most of the line users hate bugs. Which includes flies.

I have bees, which are kind of like flies, except they express their displeasure more aggressively than a fly would.

I have tried to tie them down, I can’t make a knot to hold them. They have 6 legs, which complicates the whole hogtying process.

I have had a few people ask for feathers or birds because they tie flies. Which is weird, I mean, do they use line to lasso them?

I have a telephone line, I don’t know how many of you remember what that is. But I think it’s too big to tie a fly with.

Could you restate the question. I could be confused.
I’m sitting here eating a piece of my most favoritest cake, my butter pecan pound cake (homemade recipe, BTW), and you come along and make me spew it. How dare you Ralphie! I’m just thankful I didn’t have a big swig of coffee in my mouth.

I am really curious as to your bee tying (to be referred to as bee-binding from here on out) specs and protocol. Care to elaborate?

My ducks are at the door and wanted me to say Hi to you. Although RalphieDux doesn’t understand he has a namesake out there floating around and he’s not sure if he likes the other version!:idunno I tried to tell him you were moderately okay to which he replied with a shi...splat! I didn’t really understand his mindset, other than those crazy ducks will eat anything that’s not tied down and chit on anything that is! Which reminds me, what were we talking about?

I love hearing my roos crow, but I think either of those (the long crower or the laughing crower) would get really old and annoying, kinda like my DS’s MIL’s laugh. Can’t take it more than once. I mean after all, Shaw even said her own grandma got tired of her annoying laugh.

I tie my own but I don't use the saddles or hackles from my own birds to use for floating flies. The ones you buy are specifically bred for that and it would be very hard match their quality.
That’s what I was wanting to know. What is the best breed for the the best flies?

So I’m guessing you purchase the feathers you use to tie?

Bee-binding, I like the name, and I know bee stings are good for arthritis and a persons looks. After all, Gewneth Paltrow uses and advocates bee stings for her health. I don’t know anyone that could argue against her Rhodes Scholar type scientific brain.

I will pass on extensive bee-binding though as my hands are not very nimble and I hate the feeling of bee stings. However I have the perfect hive for you to practice on. They are so friendly they have followed me to the house.
