I live in a big fishing community and love detailed ‘arts and crafts’ and thought that’d be right down my alley. BUT, the more I sit here and think about it, these kind of fishing flies would be suited for fly fishers only, correct? Don’t guess there’s too many fly fishers on a lake. D@mn!

I love hearing my roos crow, but I think either of those (the long crower or the laughing crower) would get really old and annoying, kinda like my DS’s MIL’s laugh. Can’t take it more than once. I mean after all, Shaw even said her own grandma got tired of her annoying laugh.

Hey Ralphie, speaking of neck spins, turkey question. I have a three year old girl that went broody for the first time last summer and ever since then she's been a monumental PITA. She poofs up and chatters at me and will not leave the coop in the morning so I can feed, clean up etc.
If I try to shoo her with a broom or something she really goes full on attack, so I have a catch her flailing self up every morning and stuff her out the pop door, and it's getting old. I'd rather not off her because I only have her and her mother left right now. Have you ever had a hen act like that? Any suggestions?

I have read about turkey hens without a tom acting like a Tom.

I have one hen that puffs up frequently and acts like a Tom, but I think she does it to beat the crap out of a rooster she hates.

I have also read turkeys with no Tom in the area can lay eggs that will hatch. All poults will be male. I have never seen the size of the area defined.

I assume it’s somewhat the same as worker bees laying eggs that are unfertilized hatching into drones.

Have you tried holding the wicked hen, feeding her treats and other things to be bribed into friendliness?

My hens have always been kind of mild mannered, except when they have eggs or poults.

I think the best way to calm her down would be to get her a Tom..

l think she just needs to get laid..

Technically she did not say it was "annoying" that is just what I deduced from her declaration that she could not stand to hear me laugh.
I don't think it really mattered what it was she couldn't tolerate any kind of noise or racket whatsoever.
The worst was when my boy cousin would come to stay and he always brought noisy toys.
Whoah. That never ended well.
I was always the one that ended up getting in trouble for him playing with the noisy toy because I was the one that was supposed to know better.
He was always doin something dumb and Makin me laugh and getting me in trouble!

Wow. Just like BYC only different.
