Is she home yet?

Yes. We are both home and adapting (she is my first and only baby) and healing. We didn’t have to spend any extra time in the hospital and initially the thought of them just sending us home to fend for ourselves was terrifying, but eventually I couldn’t wait to leave the hospital, so I guess the amount of time they make you stay is about right. The pets freaked out the first afternoon, and they are all kinda scared of this tiny baby, but are doing better.

My one cat comes to check on us now.

BYC related my ducks/drake murdered one of their flock mates recently. I wanted to get a few new chicks this spring but didn’t want to brood because I’ve got my hands full, but now a friend has eggs in the incubator and one of my girls just went broody, so looks like I can have chicks soon with no real work on my part.
