Have your Dad take it to a mechanic and have it checked out. I'm sure he wants you to be safe. It could be that the carb needs adjusting or something really simple. At least if he took it you guys would know what it would take to fix it. Get an estimate on replacing the gas gauge too. But girl that is one HOT car!!!! The boys are soooo gonna want to be riding with you.

Wow, congrats!

I was afraid of my first car, too, and actually fought against my mother buying it for me. After a year I sold it and have never been in a driver's seat since, and with any luck will never be again.

I'm sure you'll have more sense than me, though, and I hope you wind up loving it.

beautiful car. Your dad must love you very much to give you suc a wonderful car. When our daughter gets old enough to drive (in 14 years) we are planning on getting her a 1960's VW Bug.

Enjoy her.

Sweet ride! I'm drooling over here!
Be careful, very careful

I have been giving my DD driving lessons. This whole teenage drivers thing gives me migraines. I work in a Trauma Center. Please, please, PLEASE be careful. We so don't want anything happening to that car (or especially to you! lol).
Enjoy your beautiful car. Take care of it and it will take care of you. I love those old tanks.
