jsure I will have to go out and get her and take a photo. She looks fine other than that hole. I was checking her feather regrowth and generally checking her out. I did so a few days ago and the hole was not there then. It will take a few to go and get the photo of her.
She was on my lap when I took this photo.
just took this photo of her. She is out eating standing beside her Roo. She has been acting normal but last two nights she has slept in nesting box not on roost with others. I only have 3 hens and 1 roo. I have 2 more 2 month old hens to add to my flock. presently they are homes seperately cause they are getting picked on. Anyway this just came on in the past few days. I check their feather progress and scratch off old dead flaky skin so they don't peck at themselves. This might have been from her pecking or his spurs? Unless it is a sign of something else. I just thought she pecked it herself ? Do i put the blue Kote on over the neosporin or what do I do to see if it heals properl
ive been feeding Boss and the feathers are finally starting to regrow . I am keep ing the 2nd roo from them and it is not so bad with one Roo. I have tried to rehome and no luck.
Im not concerned about the feathers. The Roos pulled them out from riding them. They have been like that all winter. I tried various nutrients to get them to regrow and not until I put the sunflower seeds in their feed did they start to regrow. The hole is a major concern and is not from the lack of feathers. I would prefer NOT to have any Roos. But i bought them streight run and I got stuck with two and cannot rehome.
