She just won't shut up! Help :(

You being a vegetarian and your duck being cute has notheing to do with constant noise your duck makes. ( note the huge horn on head) You will loose your case and your duck. Save yourself further agrovation and Fed Ex her overnight to me. Problem solved.

Ok well I was trying to be cute n funny but apparently if my little brother joins 4-H I can keep them. So you're not getting my ducks. Sorry. And that's a pic of my drake... not the noisy little girl.

I might agree with the above post that she wants to lay an egg and is looking for a place. My turkey hens, if left to wander will squawk a little bit, then find a spot and settle down. But if they are penned up, and can't find a place to lay an egg, they will go on and on and on all day long, pacing too. It took me a long time to figure this out, but now I know that's what it is.

Try giving her the nice dark comfy egg-laying spot and see if it helps.

As a proud mom to 60 girl duckies I hate to say it but...... girl ducks tend to be a bit on the loud side some more then others. Sounds to me like your gal has alot to talk about and wants the world to know all about it. The talkers don't ever shut up (sorry!!!) And quack to the day they die
lol So maybe the best thing for you is find yourself another boy duck and find her a home where he outgoing personallity is not going to offend the neighbors

I haven't read all of the posts yet but that saddens me. What i dont understand is no one files complaints on wild birds that sing.....every spring I have happy male birds singing away in the bush infront of my bedroom window as early as 4 am...it drives me insane, but it's nature...I shut the window and I'm at peace. I tune out the sounds through the day if i dont want to hear them. OUr neighbors got Guinea Fowl those birds NEVERRRRR SHUT UP....they squeak, squawk, scream, yelp, "chickacheeeeee" and all these other weird random noises that sounds like he (The neighbor) has a jungle over there when all he really has is about 10 guinea fowl.....doesnt bother me any....it's a noise....now if it was so loud i couldnt even hear myself breath....then ofcourse that's a little annoying. I could see someone complaining about loud music blaring constantly ( we have an old neighbor lady who plays church music at midnight OUTSIDE....for about 5 hours on one of those old loud sound things.....it gets on my nerves....have considered calling on her....but the whole neighborhood hears it so i guess if no one has reported her i wont) but a duck quacking?!?! Hmm.
