That's cool, what kind of coop are you thinking of - I mean, how big/how many chickens?

Its an addition for my overflow, tweens, turkeys and meaties. I need two more the same size as the original the coop that is 80 square feet and the run is 160 square feet. I am not sure whether I will also have rooster pads. I want the girls unmolested until next spring then I only want the same breeds to mate. I haven't quite figured out how I am going to do this. I will probably change my mind about a half dozen times between now and then. I really want Braveheart staying with the flock. I may need to rename Joe Cocker to Dinner he is really mean and seems to be meaner every day. He is really sneaky and sly too.

Oops, I tried really hard to word that just so. Oh well!

I hear you on changing your mind - I'm still trying to figure out how I can keep 3 roosters with only a dozen hens. I'm afraid if I get rid of one of my Orloff boys, the other will then get eaten by a coyote. I want to keep my Ameraucana cockerel, too. Might have to do the bachelor pen idea if they all get along.

Glad your girl seems to be doing better. I'm too afraid to rescue since I don't have a good enough space to truly quarantine and I'm still a bit worried about when the sandhill cranes and canada geese come back in the fall. They overwinter here.

You know, I've got a similar issue. I have 3 gorgeous lavender orpington roosters, with only 7 hens, but I also have 8 older comet hens, but I still don't think its enough for 3 boys. Plus I have the 2 older roosters, a lovely EE and a dark Brahma. I hate to get rid of any of my boys! I might go for the bachelor pen too.
And you caught the Am reference
