She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I'm thinking of asking for an Incukit for Christmas/my birthday (3 days after). Heck, for the first time in my life, I wouldn't mind getting a combo gift (never ever actually had birthday and Christmas combined, so I get really confused when people with a bigger date spread have always had them combined. Seriously, a friend of mine is exactly one month older than me, and had always gotten combo presents. November 28 isn't even in the right month!) Anyway, anyone have any experience with 'em? With the luck I've had giving my broody shipped eggs, and the ease with which I grafted feedstore chicks on her, I figure I can order eggs, hatch them, and slip them to her. I'd need a thermometer and hygrometer, too... I do have a Accurite combined one, but another of each or another combo would be good...

I bet his daddy loved that!

Omg! You are kidding? 2 out of the whole bunch?? :hugs

Yep....all seem like they quit about day 7 to 10.

Well I know manual turning is not for me either, but I bet that's not the problem with your eggs.  Shipping kills a lot, at the beginning and then again at lockdown.

typo

I only had a few clears other than that they all started out very well.

That sucks... :hugs

I rehomed an Ameraucana roo for that too... no aggressive boys here... except a Silkie right now, and that's like getting a pillow thrown at you...

:lau!!!! That's funny.
Oh, sorry to hear that - she must have been frightened.  Hope she didn't get scratched up.

My Legbar hens are p!ssy too.  One of these days I'll get rid of them, but they are reliably laying blue eggs even in the heat.

Mine are not bad..... like Ravyn said mine are just flighty.

Really? My Legbars are not aggressive at all... a bit flighty, but not too bad...

Agreed. Except my rooster.

Thank you! I'll send you some eggs in the spring, if you want!
Sooo pretty!!
Yikes! Has he ever done that before? Well he can go be diner for someone else! Whats up with the eggs? When did they quit?
X2! (Stinks, doesn't it!)
I know! I think it's gross. But a lot of babies that have colic and aren't nursed for whatever reason, do the best on goat milk. When I weened my kids that's what I gave them (I added a little vanilla to cut the taste)!

He did get that way when he was younger to the 2 year old but she is afraid of him. And my oldest just wanted to hold him and went into his coop. And he pecked her face and drew blood. She was so upset and crying.

Are you serious!? I had to ween my first because I had my second. And I couldn't deal with nursing two babies at once. But my second was soooo hard to wean! I wish I would have thought of something like that!!

(trust me, I can appreciate that)!! Who knows maybe I'll have to do that when this last one gets older!
100% serious....lol I had tried lemon juice, vinegar (and that just curdled his stomach) and then I found sour spray candy. I just wish I had thought of it sooner. One night and he was broke, no crying, no fussing, he just excepted that "it was yucky now because you're too old to nurse" lol

I bet his daddy loved that!

LOL. His dad and I seperated before I even made it to second trimester...(I can not complete this response with what I was about to say....lol Let's just say "now he wishes....lol")

That comment almost made me spit my water all over the keyboard!

We just got finished hatching with one. 93% It wasn't hands off, but we were pleased.

If you want to see a review of that and the incutherm, the link is in our sig.

Don't have experience with the Incutherm, but I use this as one of my sets of therm/hygros...

By ZooMed... now I was told that I would fry my eggs if I used these, but they've been dead accurate for many months now... more than the digitals... j/s...

We threw em in the "big brooder" today; integrated em with the new chicks. Yes, I know that's not optimal, but we only had teh one big brooder, their smell was permeating our lives, and slackwater just tested clean for everything, plus the BLRW chicks were isolated since birth, so hopefully it'll be aight.

Had a min, so pics!

Here are a few of our mixed crew. I really like the colors so far. I can't wait to see what colors Welsummer/BA throw.

Our guys are in with the smaller BLRWs, and really giving them a run for their cash, worms or what have they.
