It was a mistake to put so many silkie only wanted to put one still don't know how I did that . two things . other than Friday and chicapee both being nurses I had a doctor and friend who we lost to a polo accident who was a saint. put my leg back together after a skiing accident . he was also my friend . because of him I was able to ski again and to teach my kids and others . Kids with special needs . My sons doctor is great with him . she Talks to him even though she knows he cant talk back to her . medical people are people and like all people there are good and bad . people who are there for the money and people who really care and I've seen both .

Okay BYC. :hugs I wasn't saying all doctors are bad. I completely understand and acknowledge that there are tons of great doctors out there. Like Lazy said, hospitals are given shipments of meds that they have to use. That's when it becomes "take this take that" because they have to use all of it.

I'm very sorry about your friend!! Sounds like a great person to know! :hugs

That's it!!!  More eggs!!!  More eggs = more sets = more experience = more confidence = more chickens = more hatching options = desire to set more eggs.

Thank you, now I know I am not crazy...I did not remember you putting the rant emojis....lol I thought I missed something.

In every public service employment you have good and bad. You have those that are truly trying to better the world that their goal is helping people and they will sacfice themselves to do so. You also have the greedy money hungry side that are there for the bucks. Unfortunetly I don't think the scales balance very well. I have been my father's caretaker for 9 years now. I have seen it numerous times. (Of course one of the biggest jokes in our area is the incompetance of the "band aid" station in which we call a hospital. Joys of a rural small town.) I have watched so many friends and family have pills and "treatments" thrown at them with no certainty of what the "cause" is so that there is no certain justification for the "treatment". Have experienced it myself.  While I am totally grateful for many Drs and nurses and validate the extremely hard job that is, I stick by opinion that the medical field today is far more  interested in dealing with the symptoms to make them go away than to find the causes.

Not a arguing with you there, especially with chronic and complicated issues, especially in the geriatric population. We need more integrated care centers.

:hit :hit doc my back hurts give at least a hundred it's really bad this time .;)  wife says people going to the ER that don't need to be there is one of the biggest  money loses for a hospital .One thing I know you have to be a good patient .so many people aren't .

Hospitals hemorrhage money out the ER.

Even worse than plagarism!!!

Well said Amy.  I lay a lot of the blame for the current state of the medical profession on:  the dictates of the insurance industry.  Then there's the whole "CYA" mentality.  Documentation is key to preventing frivolous litigation.  So, the medical staff have to document up one side and down the other.  And... their treatment approach is often dictated by insurance reimbursement and protocol, not to mention... the whole CYA:  when expensive diagnostics are often ordered, "just because".  I can't tell you how often I've refused a certain diagnostic because I did not see the benefit of it to my particular situation.  I am not your typical compliant patient!!!  Don't get me wrong.  There is a time and place for diagnostics.  But... they are often thrown around without thought.  For example:  a shoulder injury which presents as muscular in nature... the whole insurance protocol of demanding an X-ray... followed by therapy, with-holding the MRI until after all else fails.  When... in actuality, the MRI SHOULD be the first course of action.  A torn rotator cuff will not show up on X-ray, and no amount of therapy will restore that tear.

I think you are absolutely right! The rules, regulations, and restrictions on care these days are crazy! insurance companies routinely reject payments as well.

There's so much wrong with that statement that it would take a whole other thread to debate it - so I'll just drop it before SC gets depressed that I'm dragging down "his" thread.
