You asked for it. I put the sprinkler out because it was hot. First they ran into their coop and the next thing I know......x2
But they're probably just pics of muddy chickens...![]()
I've been following the development of my project poults for three months now. One of them has a color pattern that I've never seen before. The father is a Golden Narragansett and the mother a Bronze, so all the babies should have been Narragansett or Golden Narragansett or Bronze or Red Bronze. But this one was different.
As it's getting its adult coloration, it appears it is a sport, a natural mutation to Oregon Gray. That's a variety thought extinct but Kevin Porter "recreated" it based on what he thought the genetics should be. The genetics of mine is different than his as mine has no gray gene bred in. I love the color and would really like to have a flock of these. I can't wait until she has all her adult feathers.

Very nice. Utah has a very short growing season. I'm jelly. And I'm diggin your yard toys.
The garden is a good excuse for the toys. I would love to get that gator out to Moab
I can grow things most all year
We can miss a growing season for tomatoes by 3 weeks and not get red tomatoes by first frost. It's a bit tricky. Lots of greenhouses.I can grow things most all year![]()

You can grow apples though. Its harder for me I only get about 1,500 chill hours so its makes getting apple trees to produce a bit toughWe can miss a growing season for tomatoes by 3 weeks and not get red tomatoes by first frost. It's a bit tricky. Lots of greenhouses.
