She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Finally caught up... was In Law day today...

That SOB walked around the hogwire roof until he found a place where the straps were far enough apart to mash down, went through, and chased them to a corner where he deboned my most beautiful mille Fleur cockerel. The whole roof is wavy from where he was walking around. More tomorrow, patching fence...

Very sorry for another loss...

Oh that is too cool. Waiting for the other 2 to join her. The 1 clear was a cream leg bar. They have been like pop corn. The 1 marans egg that is left looked a bit strange at last candling and I put a ? On it. I couldn't really see much but there was difference. We shall see. This has been very exciting.

Ok so here's the deal: only 2 eggs are alive. But no internal pip. I can see them moving along the bottom of the air cell, where its furthest up on the side of the egg that's laying down. They are moving fast, like a heartbeat. I see them pushing out in the air cell over and over again in a repetitive motion. It was crazy. I wanted to take a video but was scared of dropping them or something crazy. Do you think they can't internally pip?? I can still see veins so does that mean they are not ready? Do you think they are stuck? Should I do anything or just wait??

Have you guys ever seen that motion that I was describing? It was really crazy! I will leave them until the morning and hope they manage to pip by then. I'm not a fan of trying to assist (even if all the vessels were gone) without an internal pip. Someone on another thread just did it successfully, and I give them props. I'm way to nervous to try it! One had the best air cell of the bunch and the other had the worst of the bunch. Interesting that those are the two still alive! Thanks for the input!

for internal pips by morning!! (It's still technically day 20)
Even as RED as I am, I won't go into an unipped egg before an internal pip has been made. So far I have never even put a "safety hole" in an egg. Before the external pip there isn't much you can do anyway without a high risk of causing a bleed out.

Marans are really hard to see in, lol... I always leave those in til the end anyways, unless they turn stinker but have only gotten a few of those from shipped eggs...
Oh, didn't I tell you I sent Jiffy Pop eggs???
Glad you have enjoyed it, you deserved it! And you have done an excellent job with those eggs/chicks! Already more than the average 50% hatch rate for shipped... :thumbsup

That's awesome hoping he will have a great hatch like me. He he. Lucky 13, the malpositioned one is zipping right on out of there. Almost 1/2 way. This is just like Christmas!
