She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Ok so here's the deal: only 2 eggs are alive. But no internal pip. I can see them moving along the bottom of the air cell, where its furthest up on the side of the egg that's laying down. They are moving fast, like a heartbeat. I see them pushing out in the air cell over and over again in a repetitive motion. It was crazy. I wanted to take a video but was scared of dropping them or something crazy. Do you think they can't internally pip?? I can still see veins so does that mean they are not ready? Do you think they are stuck? Should I do anything or just wait??

Happy National Dog Day from Bo & Layla.
Hey Friday, one of my FB friends posted a pic of his border collie... Her name is Layla! I had to go back and look at your pic again, to see that it wasn't the same dog

Having the ability to candle brings a whole new set of challenges, just like WebMD does for you when you feel sick.

Trust the chicks...visible blood vessels mean not ready. When you couldn't see them, they still went through the processes. Relax and let them be for now. If they should hatch, they will hatch.

Does that mean I've turned blue?

I have to agree, if blood vessels are still visible, I'd let them be for a bit. And with the power losses and all.

And I don't think that makes us blue, just a little more on the bluer spectrum of purple.

Hawk came back... d'uccle pen this time....
Bent between two hogwire roof panels. Possibly Liam, but picture she sent me looks like another juvenile roo. Only have feet feathers to go by in pic... I'm going to have to do a stakeout this weekend...

That sux.
That SOB walked around the hogwire roof until he found a place where the straps were far enough apart to mash down, went through, and chased them to a corner where he deboned my most beautiful mille Fleur cockerel. The whole roof is wavy from where he was walking around. More tomorrow, patching fence...

That really sux.
That's twice this week. There's a reckonin' comin'

I share your frustration. That hawk needs to meet you face to face.

Have you guys ever seen that motion that I was describing? It was really crazy! I will leave them until the morning and hope they manage to pip by then. I'm not a fan of trying to assist (even if all the vessels were gone) without an internal pip. Someone on another thread just did it successfully, and I give them props. I'm way to nervous to try it! One had the best air cell of the bunch and the other had the worst of the bunch. Interesting that those are the two still alive! Thanks for the input! :fl for internal pips by morning!! (It's still technically day 20)

Update. 200 hrs

11 hatched 1 assisted got stuck after 2hrs zipping membranes dried stuck to down. It is doing well.

1 more pipped will probably need assist saddle air cell and malpositioned.

1 zipping.

5 left to join the action .

400
