Got it! The wire worked like a charm!! Its hanging right where I want it. And it's long enough that I can bend it and move it all over the inside of the bator to check temps in other spots.

Don't know about all that, now. I've just made a raft of mistakes, and try not to make them again.

I knew our 2 RIR's were laying in the woods. Today we found their "secret nest".

They had 22 eggs hiding in there. If I do the float test does that wash the bloom off? We have no rooster so they will be for eating not incubating.
