She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Is this going to be a swap only? Or can we pay? As you can tell by my last posts..I don't have a rooster .. yet. I have a Lavender Orpington out there that will be old enough by Dec..I'm guessing. Just layer moms. So no pure.

Limited to this thread. I don't think it's going to be a set time type thing. I think if someone has eggs available at a given time, they can offer them. For example, I will probably start incubating Ams a month or so after they start laying, hopefully late Oct. early Nov. If I prove fertility, I hope to have eggs available by Jan-Feb. I want to practice shipping. I ship a couple dozen for free and see the results. If I ship, and they hatch, then I may look into either doing a website and selling eggs next year, or selling on BYC.
As far as AI and Sam, these first eggs will be a gift. I am not NPIP. I have eggs that I want to give as a gift to a friend or two from this thread, and if they want to receive that gift, is there anything that stands in the way of that?
I'd love to be your guinea pig. Don't know if you'd want some of mine. I am not NPIP either, nor will I ever plan to be. Sam can stay far away from my very little farm. The earliest I'd want to set would be mid to late March.

Just showed my DH the videos.   So that's what I wondered, I worried about it being too tight if I didn't have a finger tip under it.  Ok, so now, I have a couple coming up this winter that will be crowing.
Where do you buy your velcro?

I bought mine at Michaels with a coupon so it was only like 3 bucks.

Thanks, they need work on their colors though... and they were laying great 2 weeks ago, now they're freeloading, lol... got 1 egg in the last week...
Just curious, what line(s) are yours from? Missed seeing you had thkse, lol...

Honestly I am not sure. I won them at a swap..... I wish I knew.

LOL, your terrible! I call my DH the same thing "almost" he refuses to go near a broody hen. MEEEE, well I just smack them upside the head if they go to peck me, they learn fast, they still make a fuss but no more pecking. Griefffff....Now someone will say I abuse my chickens, and in thinking about that, I guess I do abuse them cause I had chicken for supper

You can eat bear? What does it taste like?
No, I think it's perfect!
Amy, you would be perfect to run it. I'm not saying you have too or should, I just think you'd do a great job organizing it!
Ha, thanks...lol

I guess I could do it.

Can I make a suggestion?

Whoever is gonna do the list, start it now... just mark down all the usernames of the regulars now and then it can be added to as needed... people will start coming out of the woodwork fast once word gets out and unfortunately there will be many with hands out and negative attitudes as well...

When it gets close, someone on a comp can run a multi-PM with the ones wanting to participate to coordinate the details...

Just an idea, anyways... this thread does get quite a bit of attention and newbies popping in...
I agree!

I thought I quoted gardener, but I don't see it. Definitely only our thread. A friendship thing. Kinda like SC was saying, but with more female softness....lol and fairness. I'd hate to see anyone left out that has been a regular on the thread. And I think all the regulars understand that we are not assuring SOP/show quality eggs/birds, that this is for fun and to add something different to our flocks, and are not going to try to pass off anything we have as something different. As for AI and such.... we're just taking a preliminary look at things. We can make any decisions/changes when we are ready. We just want a game plan in mind.

@SC in regards to spring... us up here don't see spring until after the calendar calls it....lol I don't think there should be a timeline, just an agreement between shippers/recievers. Being in the cold state, there's a good chance my egg production won't even be good enough till April or so. I personally don't think I'd want to recieve earlier than March because of cold during shipment and wanting decent weather to move them to the coop. But, I think that can be figured out between shipper and reciever.

If WV keeps the list she can point the people with "wants" to the people with "donations" that match them and then once the two make plans she can cross it off the list. Or something better ........lol It's a work in progress....
