I watched a little of the eagle cam that kept showing up on face book. It was pretty cool. Watched an owl one too.

I watched one of those eagle cams too, in Iowa, I think last March or so. Saw a couple of them hatch!

On FB there is this hatching group (I can PM the name). The guy that started it is...something else. Ruby added me so I could see it a week or so ago and indeed, this guy swears by using a 50/50 solution of listerine GOLD and water on the eggs. (I think most of what is said on there is well, bat dung.) But that is what she is talking about. Of course this is someone who stated the worse advice he ever got was from BYC so....

Yes, you can... Oxine is the only thing I would ever try using to dip eggs in... personally though, I just don't dip eggs, lol... I rarely do any eggs not our own anymore and of our own, I only set clean, even shaped good eggs...
Learning from experiments is good... I'm just not a fan of wetting hatching eggs in any way before setting... I think the bloom does a way better job than anything we can try... jmo...

Some times if you buy crappy eggs you may have too. My egg suppliers will be well vetted in future.
