It was about 65 here today, a little cooler than I like it. It's funny, when I was a kid I loved Winter and prayed for snow to play in. Now I can't stand cold weather and I stay inside and if I want to play in the snow a big *** 4 wheel drive truck is involved ;)

Had a bit of a scare for a little bit today, though. The birds had been out foraging most of the day. About 4:00 I noticed they'd had enough & were all back in the run, except one hen. I counted beaks again...still came up short. I'd been outside most of the day myself, & hadn't heard any commotion, like something was after them, but I started looking around for possible clues, anyway. Wasn't long before I found the missing hen...locked up inside the live trap I have for coon & possum. She seemed perfectly at home. I'm surprised one of them hadn't found their way in there before now.

We never hatched another like her, but lots like her brother, lol... my OH loves her and wants more similar... that's why I asked about yours... :D And he loves the black beards yours have... ;)

I have a security cam set up that points at the coops so I can make sure there's no preds prowling around. A coop cam sounds like a good idea though, lol. I have an extra security cam I could put in there... may have to put my hubby on that ASAP, lol
