She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

The shouldn't be any bateria in the water, I guess, it's unfiltered well water. I do have very hard water though so there's lots of calcium in it, will that be an issue? What do I look for with yolk sac infection?

Overly swollen, wet navels after hatch... and discoloration around the navel, could be just dark or greenish...

K, I'll keep an eye out for that. I hope it's ok. When I found out it was wet, without thinking, I wiped it off with my shirt. It was kind of an automatic reaction to finding out it was wet. I wish I had gone and got a tissue now :/

Nah, don't fret over that, is no biggie... my concern for you to keep an eye on them is about how they eggs were when you got them...

Oh no!! I wouldn't fret just yet though. I can't remember where I saw it but someone said they had set an egg that had a piece of shell broke out of it and they repaired it with DUCT TAPE!! And it hatched!! I don't know how true that is though, lol. I've heard that wax will do wonders for small cracks and holes. I would think it would be fine to set small end down as long as the wax is dry. But I'm not the best person to give advice. I'm sure Ravyn will have some ideas and suggestions for you though, she's alot more knowledgeable than I am, lol.

The wax should hold it. My DD fixed one and it worked.
Good to know, thank you.

Sucks big time. Thank you. It happens to be one of only a few Jubilee Orpingtons. I searched BYC and found others had success and their cracks were much bigger

DUCT TAPE? O mercy, if it is true it must have been a red neck, lol

K. Yeah, they were really nasty when I got them. I'm really anxious to see how the chicks are health wise when they hatch, I hope they'll be ok.
