She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I learned that a long time ago, when I was in high school.

We went to lunch Ravyn brought more stuff .than their car would haul and almost more than would fit on my truck .

I let them rest 24 hours put them in the Incubator and start turning.
Thank you. Some rested for 24 the others for 12. Went into the bator yesterday and confused now about when to start turning. The last batch (my first) I let rest and started turning day 1 in bator. I didn't know anything then about detached or saddle air bags. I definitely had some saddle shapes thinking back on it. But, now that I know about detached air cells, etc. I want to do the best I can for them.

Yeah, but we sold a car too...

Thanks again for hauling that... if you're too busy to bring it in morn, we understand... whenever works for you...

Btw, Jim passed out 2 hrs ago... I'm too exhausted to sleep... and sunburnt...

so that's what that thing is you have three different chickens from blue eggs you get a little confused .well I get a little confused. already know next time to put bands on them. but I also knew you would set me straight when they were older. you two got there early. I'm about to be out myself just got Ben in bed and I need to get going early . those straps made noise all the way home at 40 miles an hr. going to change trucks in the morning so I can go faster. just a little top heavy .

Man, you kept saying how they'd be light 'cause it was the end of the season and so forth... I think your eggs were darker than the ones I bought late last spring that everyone was saying had good color for the time of year!

OK, picking up some sponges tomorrow.

I never candle eggs before set . I'm thinking detached air cells could be the biggest reason all the books say you get a 50% hatch rate from shipped eggs.

I have yet another ?, lol: I went to add water to the bator cause the humidity dropped below 25% and when I did 1 of the eggs got wet. I used cut down TP rolls with tissues to stabilize so they don't fall over and 1 of the tissues soaked up some water and it got the egg wet, will it be ok since they are due to hatch in a day or 2 or can bacteria still kill them?

If there isn't bacteria in there to get into the egg no worries... clean water shouldn't affect it... but keep your eye out for Omphalitis (sp?), yolk sac infection after they hatch... you need to since those eggs were so filthy/mucky...

The shouldn't be any bateria in the water, I guess, it's unfiltered well water. I do have very hard water though so there's lots of calcium in it, will that be an issue? What do I look for with yolk sac infection?
