She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Lol. I thought every one had left. I am happy to see you all here. I had unsubscribed because I am following lots of threads and it gets a bit overwhelming.
Did I tell YOU that I too have ameraucana.

My eggs are nowhere near that blue, though. I think that's the trade off for them being bred strictly to SOP. My two goals with what I have now are to make the blue birds darker and laced better, and to hopefully work on egg color

Amy being back gives me an excuse to drop the pics again

Amy, here's the AMs grown out, the first batch of chicks, and the new BCM

Pic #1 I love him!! He reminds me of Gibbs!! They all are beautiful, but those bbs are adorable!!
I don't think they have ever done it from 1 year

I've only ever seen them from 4 year unless they did it before I joined.

It's always good to have goals...lol I want more green eggers...lol My two brown nns lay nice big green eggs. Mommas are a lighter green but her daughter-that looks exactly like her lays more of the olive color. My father loves her eggs because the yolks are so big and dark....lol

Mine came from @RavynFallen they are their first eggs. I imagine that they will lighten as the season progresses. I believe they are working on the lavender variety to be sop.

That should be interesting! Try the one you just got!!! My son got me this Bushnell tactical flashlight for Christmas. 325 lumens! Double use for me, hunting and candling :D Its so bright, I am almost afraid I'm going to blind the chicks. (bad part is the dang batteries are 5 bucks a piece!)

That's one heck of a battery! The egg from yesterday is already in the fridge, but I have another from today!

Worse than that, it takes 2 batteries!!

Hubby did find some generic ones the other day at Lowes, only a couple bucks a piece. They seem fine, but probably won't last as long.

Is the one you got today as dark, or darker than yesterdays?

Both of the big clubs are petitioning the lavender this year, but not jointly. There is some drama between those two clubs that puts the stuff I complain about to shame. It's sad

that kind of stuff is silly.

I ran into similar with our goats.......two different associations, both completely aware of the other, but doesn't recognize the other, and even worse, doesn't' recognize the registration papers of the other. They both use the exact same test for genetics.

and members are hard core for their association. they act like a couple of Baptists in a liquor store, at goat auctions......

I get the poultry press and they had some articles discussing what they want them to be called, Lavender or self blue. They are beautiful whatever name they are going to be.
