She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

My #4 chick just hatched with virtually the same condition as the one that was looking for help the other day.  It is a very small chick in a very large egg (olive with brown speckles) and the abdomen was very full on the chick.  It hatched out trailing a full yolk sac and about 6" of intestine.  I clipped the yolk sac at the junction and reinserted the intestines.  The navel began to pull shut, so hopefully the chick will be able to retain it and I will dose with antibiotics tonight.  I don't want to handle it now to reduce stress and a probable re-ejection.  Let's see if it makes it.

#5 just popped.

I saw the post after this that it didn't make it. I'm so sorry! That's terrible! Can you wrap something like vet tape around the abdomen after you reinsert the intestines?

Also, forgot to add. We have six pips as of the last check

Yay!! That's exciting!!

Not sure if I mentioned today, I quickly put a light on my eggs this morning and have veining in all 14 bantam eggs. Still can't tell in the LO eggs, they are darker and its only day 4.

That's awesome!!

Just a update on my Peking Hatching Problem from February. And a big Thank You for all the help I received.

Hey, Lacrystol... or @Amiga ...

How much (cc) and how often would you tube water and food for a 1lb juvie Call duck? She's not quite 4 months old...

I followed a link mentioned in the Go Team Tubefeeding thread, and found this - a few paragraphs down there is a mention of volume for feeding.

One pound is 0.45 (rounded) kilograms.

Thank you! I looked at that thread earlier before I tried my first tubing... but having a duck in one hand and phone in the other doesn't make for easy searching...

Much appreciate the help... :)

Bless you, bless your duck.... happy when I can help. I need to turn in. I have been letting myself stay up pretty late lately.
