She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Are ducks considered easier to hatch? Anyone know. Mine are just doing so well overall, specially for a spaced hatch.

I think it might depend on the breed of the duck. Some duck breeds are really hard to hatch, like wood ducks. I've even heard call ducks are harder to hatch. I can't wait till I hatch my first ducks! I think newborn ducks are so adorable! WV would know, she has hatched ducks. I took care of orphan ducks this spring. They were awesome but MESSY!!!

Lacrystol hatches calls, super tough! Stubby little bills can't reach to pip.

Has anyone on this thread hatched peafowl? I'm on day 12 & the candling is getting so hard to do now. I thought I saw a blood ring last night in one. Tried to get a pic but it came out crappy. I turned the egg and rechecked after a few minutes and couldn't really see the ring anymore. So I don't know. I keep reading that peafowl are hard to hatch, lots of late quitters. 50% hatch rate is considered great.

Good morning!
I'm going to be your enabler. Buy the Brinsea first, then pay yourself back with the chicks you hatch. Worked for me

On a good note....my neighbors who complain about the rooster, asked if we had gotten rid of it yet because they just got back into town last night and my daughter was like nope he is still back there. But they were happy because they did not hear him at all this morning. Crow Collar: 1, naggy neighbors: 0. LoL!!!! But they don't know that there is a second rooster or for that matter 7 Roosters all together on my property!!

I can imagine. I was just curious cause I know hatching chickens was easy back in the day and now I'm using my own homemade incubator and think this hatch is going well. I know turkeys and geese can be tougher to hatch so was just wondering if my incubator is up to the task. My pilgrim goose should be laying again soon so I will be wanting to set as many of those as possible.

I'd like to do geese myself. Guess I'll be watching you... See how it goes!! What kind of geese?
