She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Which one of your identities will bail?

I don't want to go down a rabbit hole, but I think medical health records are going to be a disaster. ALL data will be hacked. It just will.

In the U.S., my old boss is driving those and he's an awesome security guy and a practicing Internist. That's not to say implementations won't fail, but they won't be ones done according to his designs. But its also a fact that today people die due to the lack of digital availability in the health industry...which means it will be difficult to implement a solution that does both (secure data, and save lives). Institutions will always choose one over the other, or just put profit in front. While my mother was sick with stage 4 bladder cancer, even she couldn't get digital copies of her own records for her own use...that's just plain dumb. We couldn't, for example, use a private google search engine to see if her data contained things we could find researching the net...things that might have led to her being willing to take treatments. Instead, she took none, and lived 1.5 yrs after diagnosis.

We shouldn't forget that laws that apply to data that isn't digitized, automatically apply to data that is...

Well...the title went away in 2007 when we got bought by Verizon and they stopped me talking to the press, but by 2009-2010 the role was completely moot. Between the corporatizing of social media, and management capitulating to employee demands that their smart phones and tablets be "dual use" (home and business), nobody wanted explanations as to why things needed to be secure, or why security companies would lie to make sales. It was a relief to leave that world...and become a chain-smoking ornery old man out in the boonies...

Yeah...I hear ya.

The last place I worked, I was more concerned with my personal devices being infected at work than the other way around.

I now work at a security conscious and wise company that insists if you want to use your personal devices, they will be under our control...and they provide us with all the tools needed for the job so I do no more than check filtered email on my iPad.

Are you sure you aren't from South Carolina? It's all Obama's fault

Team red or team blue? Horse apples! They all work for the corporations and the laws are written by lobbyists.

BUT i'm here to get my mind off that garbage and back to basics like homesteading, farming, and seeing living things bring forth their own kind.

I sold three SLWs last weekend for $15 a piece. 8 week old started pullets. Folks lined up for them. I love the pretty things and I hope to hatch enough to pay for all the feed next year. My son want's to show them. I need to figure out how to get into showing.

I can sell any laying breed pullets for $15 all day long when I have them. 90% of my customers are looking for the prolific layers, and love the pretty eggs. That's another reason I swapped the Polish for the ameraucanas. I will never be showing, but if I had kids I would encourage them to. I think I could learn a lot that way

The 3 Musketeers at 2 weeks 2 days old. I didn't see these guys drink until they were 4 days old, or eat till they were 6 days old...BCM-Red sexlink crosses. Styro (35 eggs) is on Day 14, Brinsea (48 eggs) on Day 5...and dang, I got an ear ache!
you know, I forgot about those guys. When I first started reading that, I thought you were about 16 years old :lau

Oh, and update on my 19 6 week 3 day olds. It is amazing the transition from 4-5 week olds to 6+. Earlier if I walked into the run they all ran and hid...and the roos would run up to me after they hid. Now they all run to me, even though I'm carrying no food. The scary thing is that now they are slightly larger than my foot, so if I step on one stuff will stick out all around...sorry, bad image, but they stick so close to me its a fear I have.

There's so many different colors and patterns its awesome. I got pure white with a few black dots, pure black with white dots on the end of every feather, totally red sexlink looking, and totally BCM looking...and then the oddballs. Gotta go find me a wire hanger so I can make a foot hook. At 8 weeks I'm going to catch all the BCM looking females and toss them into the main run...be bold or go home...the rest will go to processing (hens at 10 weeks, roos at 14).

Tagged my 2 BCM roos today, finally. They are a week younger than the rest so there's still a noticeable size difference, but I figured it wouldn't be long before that would become a hard distinction. Of course within minutes one had thrown his Velcro wrap...lolz, luckily I had just put food down so he was not paying any attention to my hand swooping down...;-] And wow, re-learning how to feed young ones...its like an exponential scale...lolz.
