They are horrible photos as the weather is heavy overcast. I'll try to get some better pics, but trying to isolate a handful of birds in a pen with 70 turkeys is just asking for a challenge.

Hey, camera buffs...question for you. I'd like to get photos of each of my birds, but by myself its hard to hold them let alone use 2 hands to take the pic with my camera phone (which sucks anyway). So, what's cheap, doesn't require 2 hands to get a focused picture (as in it auto focuses and doesn't need me to press a little for it to focus, then press some more), and can take a bunch of pictures quickly (so I can pick the one where the chick isn't flapping its wings or turned away from the camera). It also needs a flash that can keep up with the picture taking. The Canon EOS Rebel T5 seems to have all the features I want, but up here its C$400, just wondered if anyone can think of a cheaper one??

To me it looks like that one is about to bust out in tears.

I offered up my poults a few salmon trimmings. It's so funny to offer them something new. One will taste, and the immediate reaction was "yuck", accompanied by a hasty retreat, head shaking, and beak wiping on the pellet bedding. The second one said "hey, wow that looks exciting" and came over to check it out. Another nibble, quick backstep, head shaking routine. Third one got brave and grabbed a piece and ran. #1 and #2 chased after, and #3 gulped it down to avoid losing his scrap of salmon. #1 and #2 came back and each grabbed a piece, and #3 chased them around while they gulped it down. #4 just sat back and watched, then walked up to my hand and sat down on top of the remaining scraps. So I now have a salmon scented poult...

That's pretty hilarious!
Finally! Stuck in a fireworks booth with a phone whose battery needs to be kept up for the credit card reader (and actual phone calls--being in charge of the 2 booths here in town means my phone rings more than once a day LOL) makes for some backlog ;-) Good thing everyone else has been busy, too.

Anyway, I just wanted to leave a link to something I wrote for a general knowledge site--it just went up today. http://h2g2.com/edited_entry/A87846547

Nice work! Love the intro. ;)

Quote: We actually have a "retired" fireworks booth that's had a floor and a sloped roof added, and put up on post-and-pier (the chickens do almost all their dustbathing under it, so the only holes in the yard are the ones the dog started right next to the front walkway...). With an internal divider, we use one side as the ministry's food pantry, and the other as a bare-bones guest room. The flaps are permanently down, so I harvested the hardware cloth from the windows for the coop I was making out of our not-a-greenhouse (in my sig--or searching not-a-greenhouse on here should bring it up). Luckily we were doing the conversions concurrently!

This particular booth's a loaner, and I don't have room for a second coop anyway--certainly not one that big!

Your camera phone doesn't have a timer? Even my cheap old one has that.
