She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

So, an observation I've made I would like others to comment on.

During week 3, chicks click into the idea of just eating because they're bored. My 3 Musketeers have gone from one half bowl per day, to 2 full bowls a day...
My serious response, though, is that is how it goes for me. At about 3 weeks it seems like they eat all the time. I had 10 Roos left over from the last hatch, and sold them for $2 each at six weeks old just to keep from feeding them any more. They eat like pigs at that age

You can refresh on a phone? How? Can you also go forward when you've accidentally hit the back button on the phone and you were almost to the bottom of the thread page you were on but you don't know exactly where because you weren't paying attention to the numbers and you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page you went back to accidentally to get on the page you were on and then scroll down again to get to where you were and of course both pages are full of pics and multiquotes?

*inhale*

Not that that's ever happened, of course *ahem*

Or are you not using Firefox on an Android?

Amy, I know it's not an age thing, because I remember it, and we're the same age! Then again, maybe you had a social life around the end of high school ;-)

And have a great time! Our 18th anniversary is on the 12th, which is nice for recovering from fireworks selling season. I haven't seen my husband since Saturday and, if it weren't for the fact that he's giving some folks a ride back to town today, I wouldn't be seeing him until Sunday...

I use a windows phone.  I still see the web address on the bottom of my screen with a circular arrow.  I hit it, and it reloads the page, grabbing anything new.  So I have no idea how to do it on an Android, but I would think there should be a way!

And Happy Anniversary a little early.  18 years... impressive...  I'm only 8 behind you lol

ETA... Sometimes mine remembers my spot, but sometimes it doesn't, so I can't help ya with that one...  And yea, that made me out of breath reading it!  lol

I normally would actually use punctuation, but I wanted to show my excitement at the concept of having normal internet functionality ;-)

Amypaper, are you using an Idevice? (iPad iPhone, iPod)

Nope, Android.
Hm. Never used an Android. My family are Apple users completely. On my iPod on the Safari app, I slide my finger down and the website/search bar thing appears, and there's a little arrow in a circle I can touch. It usually saves my place, too, which is good because I have it set to show 50 posts per page.

*Fiddles around some* Ah, if I use the built-in browser, I have a forward button. I only ever use that browser when I want to post pics. I like Firefox better, because I can get to any of my usual sites with one tap, instead of dealing with bookmarks or typing out urls.

*Fiddles some more* Hm, the forward button is activatable... Huh, what do you know--it leads to my BYC subscription page LOL I might just think about using that browser for BYC...

Which brings up another question. Do you all let your birds have 24/7 access to food/water?

I do let them have food and water all the time. The only time they dont is when they go to bed on a night. I don't lock up untill they have gone in and open up at first light, sometimes they don't even get up when I open up.

I like them to have food all the time then there is no bolting of food causing crop issues and problems. I have to say this summer they are getting through some serious food. These polish seem to be eating more than any of my other birds ever did.

I do...but as the lights are off at night, even the broilers have time to digest.

When I've left light on 24/7 after a few weeks of age, I've had more issues with broilers overeating and overgrowing, and with bored birds. Sleep is restful for all of us.

And I think rooster no-crow collars are in my future. The two boys have been nonstop all day.

My polish chicks at a lot, but those 10 cuckoo marans roosters would empty a 7 pound feeder in under 2 hours. It's like they were afraid someone else would eat it, so they attacked it until it was gone

I have to ask, I'm sorry if its obvious, but why would you give Roos to someone that raises ferrets?
Amy, have a great time!!!
Beautiful setup! I absolutely love it! When I move someday and have my own property, I'd like to have something just like that!
Thanks

Have a great time away, Amy.
Thanks

Never been a matter of social life, I just have never liked stupid humor. Just like I love Jim Carrey, but can't stand to even see a commercial for the dumb and dumber movies. I like funny, not people acting like idiots. MAD TV makes me cringe. I'd rather listen to Jeff Foxworthy or Bill Envall or even Larry the Cable Guy....

Nonsense. You can still let loose with a kid. I'm not talking getting drunk and dancing topless here.

I'm just talking about relaxing and enjoying yourself. Have fun.

In fact it's perfectly acceptable to act like a kid with your kid sometimes.

It's goofy and is an instant stress reliever.
That I plan to do...lol

Thanks

i would imagine ferrets like chicken, too
They do if they can get them...

Yes.

I do. Lights out keeps them off of the food for a rest. I have even done this with my test batch of cornish X and they are doing great. One more week and they will be.....delicious.

I hear Marans are very good eating.

I do--then again, my coop is 10'x10', with 8 hens, so I have plenty of room! There are times when we're gone for a few days and don't have anyone that wants to help with the chickens (the dog's easy--she's one that you can measure out a week's worth of food, basing the rations on her weight, and she'll eat for 10 days) or just times, like this Saturday, when there's someone in town, but it's pretty darn certain that no one will be available to close up at dusk.
