Back OT. I candled today and it looks like only have two confirmed dead (one clear and one that not only does not move but has no developed vascular structure towards the pointy end like the rest). A few others are slow or darker than others, all are marked up to high heaven. My class predicts 8 will hatch (oh, please no!).

Turn the temperature up. That will usually reduce your hatch rate
I'm hoping all 30 of mine will hatch even though I've only got room for 15 adult chooks, and already have 1 adult roo, 1 cockerel and 4 pullets, 2 of which are laying age and 2 that should be there in a month.
