She auctions off some now and then on her Facebook page, last dozen just went for 200. I keep having to remind myself that I'm not a breeder, and since I quit my previous job I don't need to spend that kind of money on a gamble of shipped eggs.
Even in the Brinsea, that's a huge gamble. I think I would rather spend $500 on chicks than $250 on eggs. There's so many faults in the breed, and so much to learn, I'm just going to try and breed out what I have and improve. If that doesn't work, then I will drop some money next timeAnd I thought my LO's were expensive! Sheesh!
I'm not opposed to paying for quality. I guess I just don't know enough about them to know what they are worth... yet... But I'd be so scared with hatching eggs that I paid that much for! I think I'd have to take 3 weeks off work to tend to the bator. Even a Brinsea! lol
