She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I was agreeing with your husband until I saw HOA. I hate HOAs, POAs, all of those guys. If you bow to the HOA, the terrorists win. Go get you some aigs!

Yeah!! Technically, we live "through" a development, and only pay dues for road clearing in winter. We are on the back side of it, and nobody will ever see my chickens anyway, except my 2 closest neighbors and they already know about them. And if anyone actually said anything, I could probably argue that we don't live "in" the development. I'm off work tomorrow, so I was thinking I might make the hour plus drive myself... if he goes to work, he'll never know! lol

Buncha uppity blankity blanks! Moved down here and turned our fine plantations into yankee country clubs. Girl go get you some eggs!!!

LOL. Everytime I see a chicken, I just want it. All the chickens!

I'm going to get some Ayam Cenami's.

Just kidding, they kind of scare me.
Oh man, I guess I'm not going to figure this out easily. Thanks that's good to know, about being harder to tell. I'll also keep and eye on feather growth too. I'm up for the challenge though, I'll try to do some research. I hear bad things about having more than one roo, but I dont know. My neighbor only has one, and a friend of mine says to only have one.

Hey question, did you notice if your Orpingtons had furry feet as babies? My husbands old teacher has a farm now- he's the one who sold them to us. He said he noticed they had furry feet, which he wasn't sure if there was some other blood line in the roo he had. I guess the roo they had just gotten and I think this was his first hatch.

You have expensive taste in chickens! LOL

None of mine have furry feet, but the feathers do grow down from the tops of their legs a bit lower than other breeds. Like boy shorts instead of bikinis LOL I'm sure these guys can name the feather-footed breeds... silkies and brahmas are 2 off he top of my head

D'Uccles, Mille Fluer, cochins

I just did my day 7 candling. Still have some loose air sacs, but all in all, I'm pleased. 15 look great and seem to be developing well, 9 are iffy and are probably quitters, and 5 had the textbook blood ring so I was comfortable tossing them.

Two more weeks to go!

No, actually I think you're right. They look more like boy shorts LOL.

I love the silkies
