She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

that ain't right that's inflecting pain on some pour dumb rebel after yall rolled through here burned our cities took our livestock that threr is my bacon o btw you forget part of Atlanta come back and finish the job  It looks great wish I was there injoy  back to hatching next week and you never know What SC has been up to

Waren't me, my kin didn't cross the Atlantic until the 1870s and never went south of Ohio. They went north to da UP and became farmers of fine river bottom in a climate with about 90 days of growing season.

So, I hit day 7 this afternoon so of course I candled and marked air cells. Here's the stats: I set 21 eggs last Sunday. A couple days ago I candled the suspicious looking egg to find that it was indeed a blood ring and tossed it leaving 20 eggs. Today's candle revealed 20 developing eggs. That's 100% fertility (not a surprise). At this point all I can see in the four green ones are veining. The others have great veining and I could see some dancers moveing around in a good share of them.

Up until today the temps been consistant between 99-100 with little flunctuation. Today (since it decided to warm up after a couple days cold snap) I had my first jump where two thermometers read 102 and one read 103. Ouch. I got that regulated back down. Now it's wait and see again.

Air cells look good, I even added a bit of water to one of the sponges to keep them from making too big of a jump over the next week. I have one egg that is bigger and the air cell is a bit smaller, but that's to be expected.

Overall I am happy with how it looks. Having problems getting good pics now, but will try later.

This is my favorite post of the day, and I totally agree. Memorial Day off, so today is pool and beer day. I'm behaving myself...

Ok, so I'm going Geek for 24 hours. Limited time only. I need to dispell SC's idea that I sound like snookie (so instead I'm going to look like a total Goober ;) ), but what's life if you can't laugh at yourself??? So, I'm going to make a total fool of myself and introduce myself....now be nice...lmao

 Limited time special is over...lol

You don't sound like Snookie! And you're adorable, haha you're video was cute! And I'm not even about to make one because I probably do sound like Snookie.

Breakfast, bikes, camp...out in the middle of 40 acres of oak, maple and pine in the midst of 30,000 acres of state forest...

This and a cooler full of booze is how I am spending my weekend. Don't work too hard!

That looks like my kind of weekend! Enjoy!

Teach me your ways! Sounds lIke it's going very well!

I can't say the same, I'm pretty sure my power failure killed these chicken eggs. Or at least messed up their development. It's now day 22 and nothing, thinking of doing the float test. I don't know I'll give them a little more time, could be delayed due to the power loss but I have a bad feeling. And I think the mistake was not knowing about dry hatching in these bators.

I just got home, we've been finishing our basement so we've been busy. I got the hubby to go buy me some eggs though, tonight. His old teacher breeds purebred Ameraucanas (he's in some Ameraucanas breeders club and takes it very seriously, LOL but I wanted the real deal) so I have six of those, and he had some Blue-Laced Red Wyandottes so I got six of those and he threw in four extra. I saw the hens and the roos of both and they are pretty chickens

Amy, I'm going to do the dry incubation method, I bookmarked your page. I can't go completely dry, because we're in a drought (for the northeast anyways) and the humidity in the air had only been 20%. I have found a tablespoon of water is plenty in this bator. Hopefully this goes well and with NO loss of power- I did move the bator, it was the other outlet that shorted out. Just my luck, but so far it has been running perfect since.
