She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Ok, a few pics of the 4 that have been moved to the brooder. They are so super tiny. I love them already

AWWWWEEEEEE!!!!! Look at those babies!!!! I can't wait. Just put a whole freaking menagerie of eggs in the incubator tonight, including ducks that I was not expecting. They were part of the extra eggs along with a Naked Neck. (I am secretly excited about the NN!)

I decided to drop in and check on you persons. 1058 posts.
SO I thought I was bad at 137 posts behind but DANG!!!!!! LOL!!!!

I decided I was going to get caught up before I posted, and now I can't remember what I was going to post

But seriously, you guys've been chatty today! Sheesh!

Picked my eggs up at the post office this morning. One advantage of them sitting there since Saturday--the air cells that I could see were nice and solid.

I am glad you got them and they look great!!! Let's hope they grow and hatch!

I love it that despite we might be from so many different areas, we all leave the forums around the same time/
That is truly funny!!!!!!

@Alaskan How bad is the fire on the Kenai? I grew up in Alaska and miss it so much! It makes me sad that all this is going on up there.

@rossfam06

You aren't a Ross from north of Anchorage are you?

Anyway.... We had a super bigger fire last year here on the Kenai, but this one is much worse, it has already eaten up houses..... And nice houses too (verses just a few easier to replace shacks like in last year's fire)

Also, the fire north of Anchorage near Houston is also horrid bad... All along the highway there, and eating up houses left and right.

Well that depends. My husband was stationed at Elmendorf before it was JBear and we lived in Palmer off Knik River Rd and I grew up in Meadow Lakes near Wasilla. My maiden name is Bell and my hubby and married in April of 2006. We left Alaska after his enlistment was up in Sept of 2009. I remember the Millers Reach fire. I hope you guys get some rain to help with these fires. Its terrible!

I admit I kinda screwed up if I was following Amy's dry hatch, no doubt about that. I culled 7/41 during the incubation, all before day 14, as infertile. But I believed the rest were active, but I wish I could see further into the egg beyond the air sack. I believed I went into day 18 with 34 viable eggs...and 12 never did anything. So, I either killed them, or they were infertile. I inspected 2 on day 23, one "popped" and stunk, the other was a perfectly normal looking chick in the right position...who just never pipped. I got discouraged and didn't check the other 10 unhatched eggs.

I don't know what a "flock issue" is...could you explain?

ok I'm so far behind it an't funny candler needs to as close to 450 lumens as possible the more the better you have to be in the dark pretty much by time you reach day 18 air cell is all you are going to see you can't see veins in the early days not going to happen let me see If I can post this again day seven Marans egg maybe a 5 top picture look at the shadow below the freckle that's the embryo I just realized this picture is up side down the air cell is toward the light you have to learn to look only for that. watch for the movement you can it in the top picture but it's off to the left in the lower one. its takes a little time getting used to not seeing veins .

Nope... i meant the Ross family that lived up there for a great number of years... :D ah well, I guess the world gets to stay big....

The ross family that I know had their house in Eagle River, but then sold it to their daughter and moved out to Wasilla.

And Wow!! This fire really hits home for you then! It is burning up your old stomping grounds! :( It was almost at 8 thousand acres last I saw a size report, and all along the road! That is the part that kills me... I wish it would go party out in the wilderness... Instead of around all of those houses!
