She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Sounds like two things, one you did just fine, and two it may not be all too serious.

I like to keep a low block on the floor in the coop, the chicks and poults LOVE to hop on top of things.  And since no one likes to be left out, your straggler may get some quality physical therapy in the process.  Just make it a square piece of 1x6 or 2x4 so they don't crash too hard jumping willy-nilly.

Will try that too. Thanks again!

My boy lost a couple eyelashes to a gold sexlink and that was a good reminder for us. Hurt him a little but luckily did not get his eye. I hope you're OK.

That's pretty funny.

Ouch! I too hope you are ok. Post some pics of the birds in their new home when you get a chance!
I am, thanks guys, I just wanted to whine...

SC's narcessistic tendencies must be wearing off on me.

My guys in their new home. (I plan to put a floor in eventually, right now it is ground.)

That bird is freaking rad. Great pic!

I have a dirt floor in my coop and was raised around dirt floor coops. We don't have rain or humidity issues so I'm not sure if I will change.

:fl   Good luck!

:fl   Good luck!

No digital display or thermostat? Heating element that runs around the top lid? Your temps are about what mine stay. The nice thing with checking air cells is you can pinpoint what eggs might be trouble (loosing more moisture due to porousity/shell quality.)  Another big thing I have found with mine is even though it has the fan, I still have cooler/warmer spots in the bator. I try to rotate my eggs, especially if certain ones look less/more developed.

Well, my 15 are now in their new coop and I even have my "special needs" roo out there. Hoping  that he can stay out there at least during the good weather.  I was sitting in the coop watching them and I was scrutizing the Spitzhauben, (I had aimed to keep 4 spitz girls and 2 boys and I am thinking now I ended up with 2 girls and 4 boys  :(   so it looks like I might be shipping 3 out,) anyhow I wasn't paying attention to my ee roo, the pretty gray one who was dancing beside me...apparently he was watching my eye as I was watching his friends and he nailed me right in the eyeball!! And daggone it hurts!!!  I'm usually very watchful when they are around my face, but I wasn't paying attention and now I am paying for it.
Anyhow they look real happy in there. Tomorrow I plan on getting my run up. Now I just have the littles and almost have my house back! 12 weeks inside is way too long, so glad to have them out!

Yup, No fancy digital display or anything, heating element at the top. At what days do I mark air cells?
