She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Woo got a call from a friend at cackle told me they had some extra blue swede ducklings so walked over there and picked up four. They're so cute. Hopefully they turn out pretty and at least one is a drake and one is a hen :) If they raise up pretty have to either separate or get rid of my rouens. Like the swedes better but they all are cute and ducky :)
Number 2 hatcher is getting good and dried off, def looks more rouen than the mutt, can't wait to see how mutt feathers out :) Can feel 3rd bump around inside it's shell so it should be pipping in a day or so :)
Walking in this heat is exhausting, even if it was only a mile or so.

I would be in so much trouble if a hatchery was within walking distance.

Yeah they manage and get from some good flocks. My only worry is the only chicken breed I'm really interested in is Light Brahmas and I loved the ones my family had like 10 years or more ago and they were from Cackle and the rooster was super sweet. Lately though I've heard Brahmas from Cackle have had aggressive roosters. Have heard 3 or more people tell me they got aggressive rooster grown up from their stock. Brahmas are supposed to be super docile, easy going. If their line has gone aggressive they need fresh blood in there.

Thank you! I have a great fathers day and I miss my Dad too.

Sorry to hear that. I bought 14 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes and none of them hatched. Going into lockdown on 14 shipped barred EE eggs tonight.

Congrats!

:frow  Welcome!

So you did find a way to find the actual temp? I use a temp gun on the eggs themselves to calibrate my incubator and it works well.

Tell me about using a temp gun? (Popcorn eating smiley) (I hate BYC on my phone!)

I feel the same way about mimes
Every time I think I'm going to get something done and stop reading this thread I see a zinger like this and I can't leave.

If someone will buy your Roos, don't ask questions

We might have saved 40 chicks with this for the IT guy that was here last week. Won't know for another 10 days or so. Until he used his temp gun he didn't realize his readings were off and his eggs were 103. I hope he gives us an update.
