She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I think i saw someone ask what incubator i used - if it was a Styrofoam.
It is not I would consider it to be worse than what i have seen of the Styrofoam.
it was one of these

Weird plastic thing - no indicators of whats going on and the setting dial is pretty course too.

i wish i had read all of this site before i put the eggs in instead of at day 22 when i decided i was having troubles.
I got 2 from 18 eggs. only 3 of the 18 didn't have fully formed chicks. the rest died without pipping.
I think the temp may have fluctuated and been cold thought then too high at lock down.

Up to post 1550 now -
I would love to make my own incubator but i cant seem to get hold of any Styrofoam boxes for now.
On Breeds - I want Olive Eggers with Frizzled silkie feathers and no Aracuna beards, or silkie crests. This will take a lot of mixing and be a very unique Bird. I also want the same looks in a Chocolate egger. I am making a start trying for eggs from these 2 :

The frizzle is a hen and silkie a rooster.
On assisting I'm a deep Red,
- Our first pet chook was a cull - she was blind with a crook neck but she was a much loved pet for the 4 years we had her.
So i will keep a chick alive as long as i possibly can.

Hey guys and gals, slept in today so just catching up now. Hatcher number 2 is running around the incubator fine, pecking a the window wanting out but not running around strong enough for me to feel comfy putting it in the incubator. It def looks pure Rouen. Egg number 3 has pipped, so so far so good. Gonna candle and see if all the others are still on track. So far I am very peased with my homemade incubator and starting to feel confidant on hatching some turkeys :)

A turkey baby! So beautiful!!! What kind is it? And it seems like you have a good mama on your hands!

They are heritage breed bronze and bourbon red. I don't know if any reds hatched or not yet. I have 16 more fertile turkey eggs I put in out yesterday to see if someone would sit and she decided that was were she wanted to take her babies so she is sitting on 16 eggs and 4 fresh chicks. I hope somebody else will decide they want to hatch some and sit on them because I am sure she won't stay on them with her new little ones running around

Well @scflock looks like we are the only ones on here this early!!! LoL!!!!

Are ducks considered easier to hatch? Anyone know. Mine are just doing so well overall, specially for a spaced hatch.
