This is Frankenbator. I made a page for it (its in my sig).




By using Flex Watt heat tape I get a more even distribution of heat and the incubator comes back up to regulated heat quicker after candling (about 4 minutes). Using the Flex Watt also allows me to put heat directly over a cup(s) or jar(s) of water to increase humidity during incubation and lockdown. By doing this I avoid using sponges and I don't have the mess, the chance of dripping on eggs, and I don't have to open the incubator as often if at all. I can also run with the vents open and it does not affect the temps because the flex watt is so efficient.

That is exactly what I want to build for a hatcher, but in a plastic cooler rather than foam cooler. Very cool, and results show it's good!

He is beautiful. I have one too that is high pitched and very annoying. And cocky. If he sees anyone he has to stick that chest out there and crow his head off.

Ok, here are the pics of the new Ameraucanas. After doing a little research yesterday, I am very happy with the purchase. They are the offspring of birds purchased directly from Paul Smith. I had never heard of him before, so I googgled. He is a huge breeder from Texas who is also on the board of directors of the Ameraucana Breeders Club. I had no idea. The woman I bought them from didn't mention that in the ad, but she told me when I went to pick them up. She sent me an email Paul had sent her telling her how to identify which birds came from which of his pens. These are the most direct from the breeder birds I have ever bought, only 1 generation removed. I think I accidentally scored a great deal

Oh wow. That one in the middle is almost identical in coloring to my ee you said you liked. Unfortunetly mine has the yellow legs, but she has the fluffy cheeks.

They are all ugly at that age

The thing I am finding is that when I keep posting pics, I end up having plenty of progression pics for myself.
I'm feeling better and better about my chicks. After the big letdown on the BCM thread, people on the Am thread love these
