This both flatters me and amuses me simultaneously as you didn't even guess the right answer! For me, it is a fairly obvious answer but I suppose that is because of who I hang around with.

in (Japanese for in is に=ni but it would not be obvious because Nippon ends with an 'n' so I went with English, I could have gone with Yamamoto but that is a mouthful)

To answer your question, I am an American expat living in Japan. Right now I am teaching at a preschool that teaches English and spend the afternoon teaching private English classes. My Japanese is awful. My boss tells me I sound like a retard...

For the preschoolers we are hatching chicks which is why I am here (in this thread) at the moment. I am however, hoping for a low hatch rate because they will live on my apartment's porch... err... I CAN fit 6 ok, but I'd rather just have two or three, max four for noise issues...

Oh yeah, one more thing. If you are looking for a low hatch rate, this is the one and only time I will recommend this: LG 9300

See, I have no tolerance for this type of behavior. I used to think it was normal until I witnessed my Welsummer(Fah Q) covering the girls. He was so gentle and they were so willing. I can't wait to see what comes of their chicks. All of our hens are Australorps, I have seen some pretty crosses from those genes. Today our LG decided to suddenly shoot up to 108 and then flipped the breaker on the outlet.

I'm never going to be able to regulate that temperature. Fixing to give up and get a hovabator. Amy keeps me going. lol

As he's my first rooster I really didn't know what to expect. I am wondering if he will calm down or the girls will calm down since I don't believe they are ready. Doesn't seem to stop him, though.
And if I have lots of feathers I should probably start doing something with them. I have the craft supplies and glue.

3 eggs made it to lockdown. All are alive. I have my one, wrong end pipper. I'm going to start assisting around 7am. That will be 24 hrs (unless he tries to hatch before then on his own). I don't think he will because I can't see his beak through the pip hole. Looks like his wing. But he's chirping. The 2nd egg has a big, beautiful pip and a chirping beak sticking out. And nothing from the 3rd egg yet. I only just started day 26 so they are still early. (28 day hatchers). I'm nervous and excited. Nervous about the assist but excited to watch the other hatch. I'll take lots of pics!! Thank you both for asking!

I had thought based on everything that you can to Japan to do teaching. I have friends who have done the same.

Not sure how I'd feel if my boss called me that. Probably quite insulted and looking for a new job.

Nice bikes walnut. The incubator is holding steady at 100.4 for now, but the humidity dropped down to 23% so when the sun goes down I will candle for air cells and take the carton out( unless there are detached ones) if that does not bring the humidity up to 28 then I'll add some water.

If you need a little boost use a sponge or a half of sponge instead of adding water to the wells, that way you don't end up with a big spike, and if it's way too high you can take it back out easily.

Quality is all that matters! Glad to see I have someone else on my side. And thank you. I am so in love. My overall hatch rate is 70%. I am so happy with that.
I can't imagine driving though that. I have seen nature specials on it. Terrible.

Ahh, sorry, I am moving as close to Lookout as I can get. My dad hang glides. I am only farming in GA b/c he goes hang gliding there so he can stay at my place when he wants to do a long weekend there. And then, I get the added bonus of having someone on had that can do handyman work

And you would be right though I despise small children. FML, I never would have taken this job if I didn't need a visa. Even worse they are moving next year to a new location. I got my appt because I like the 30 sec commute!

Hahah, no. I live in a city. I don't even think I am allowed to have pets in my appt, I am just going to keep it discreet. On my porch... there is a major roadway in front of my house so I hope the noise pollution drowns them out. Plus, they are going to be slaughtered the second they get to size... Plus, battery hens in the states have it better than pets over here.
