Sebastian dances after crowing because he has a noise reduction collar on and is trying to get it off. He's over twice the volume without it.

Aw shucksSee?? I pinched them good, they're so pink now!!
Did anyone notice when they move chicks from the brooder to the outdoors, that they seem to slow down on growing?? Is it just mine? They were little weeds till they hit outside. They are still healthy and doing good but not growing as fast or eating as much starter...?
That explains a lotSebastian dances after crowing because he has a noise reduction collar on and is trying to get it off. He's over twice the volume without it.
Wait until they feather out. They will blow up again and eat twice as much as the big chickens. Try switching them to flock raiser. It's not a necessity, but my juveniles love it
Great video. Why does he do that little dance MICE after he crows?
I guess I'm on that list now!![]()

I gave it to you in the ovation. I get in trouble when I do it out hereSC, you're killin' me!!! I didn't even realize!^![]()
I do the same. I used to use starter until lay, but I was having a problem keeping broody chicks out of the layer's food. I switched them all to flock raiser and gave free choice oyster shells in the pensI second that... I use Purina flock raiser from hatch til lay now... much better growth rate and they eat less...

I thought hanging the layer's feeders higher would solve the issue. It did, until the chicks learned they had wingsYep, had same issue... and it's good for ducks too...
