New eggs are getting shipped today or tomorrow the latest, depending on how her girls laid over the weekend. But I haven't heard from her yet with the tracking number. I should have them wednesday or thursday. I'm excited to set again! Yes, please!! Lets plan to set the calls together in the spring! That would be good at hatch time since they're so difficult, we'll both be up all night, so we can help each other!

Awesome! I set my duck eggs in late Feb this year, hatched March 23ish. It was still a little cold here, but I think they did fine, so, I'd like to shoot for around that same time frame, if that works for you. I'm marking my calendar to get in touch with you in January!

I'm just following the scientific method and saying that it will show you whose better at hatching....with only one variable. Just sayin.....can't deny science esp when it proves a theory or in this case...whose better.

Thank you dear!

It's just plain less stressful.

Not checking the eggs anyway. Hanging with SC..... well that's different.

Ok, just bring me the Am eggs too! Then I can beat you with your own eggs!

Sounds like a perfect situation to see who's best! Apples to apples, right? Even playing field. Can't blame the eggs or the incubator. I think you're chicken...

This is pretty much what I was going to say when I quoted the first one...... lol

I will probably eggtopsy tomorrow night. If there are live chicks, they will be culled right then. It's cold, but it's easier than culling a fluffy one. I'm hoping they are late deaths. My wife said there's still only the one in the incubator, so I'm not holding out much hope. Seriously, by day 23 they start hatching with issues. I'm going for strong, healthy chicks to add to a breeding program, so at least I have 13 feisty fat ones. If I were hatching for myself, it would be different. Now that I have gotten into breeding, I'm learning that there is a whole new level of cold heartedness that you have to stick to. I haven't gotten to the point of culling for faults yet, but I only want healthy chicks. If you really want to know how I cull, I can PM you, unless everyone wants to know. It's not fun...
I think I tried to say this on the first page of this thread. Amy and I aren't vastly different the first 21 days. It's from day 22 on that the real differences between blue and red show up.

I'd dual you to the bitter end, or until you begged for mercy

I've read a ton on different ways to cull and what is the most "humane". I haven't had to yet, but I wanted to be prepared. I don't know if I could do it myself. I think I'd have to call in my back up.

I'm not going up against anyone until I can get over 85% with my own eggs

I knew going in that this hatch probably wouldn't be my best, but I had a glimmer of hope that I would get at least 15. It's starting to slip away...

I was looking forward to a parade.....

She would be getting shipped eggs...

Okay so 2 varibles...and I guess the humidity level would have to be the same or not for another varible.

I bet I can get better than 85% with your eggs!

I am willing to bet you can....Everyone place your bets!!! Lol!!! We will take a poll.
