She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I did the bottom but not the top, I was worried it would mess up the heat element and control box. I should've asked advice on that before I turned it on.
ETA: I also cleaned the turner and wire mesh that covers the bottom.

Next time just gently wipe down the top with washcloth and bleach... it'll help... :)

No, the plugs are still in, I was worried they'd let out to much heat and humidity, should I remove them?

Need to breathe...

Yes, air exchange is very important otherwise your incubator will soon smell like an old shoe.  Not a good place to raise a baby.

Good point...

Thank you, hugs are always nice :)

Welcome, anytime...

I DO know how you feel... have my past too... and still have skeletons in the closet... :/

sorry guys totally out of the loop right now just had a really hard weekend. did however finish one job over done no going back . last night worst of all got in after dark and went to feed my horses . my favorite one was down rolling on the ground colic , really bad tried to save him but couldn't. did all I could but there was no hope .Its kinda like I've lost my kid . right now really depressed about that but I'll feel better after I get some sleep haven't had much in the past three days . love this thread though don't know what I skimmed on that made laugh . but It did and I needed a laugh even a small one. Wife made me feel a little better about my horse though .she said she was happy he looked so good for his age . he was 29 years old I raised him from a baby there when he was born first foal on the farm .so without even trying to read more I'm turning in early tonight . finish trailer story sometime tomorrow .

to you too. My parents' horses are getting old, they just had an Arabian pass away in his sleep who was 39, and had to put down a mare in her late 30s. They have only two left, both in their 20s, the horses are growing old with them. When we were visiting them in July, one of their horses cast himself in a run-in shed trying to roll in the soft dust, and my husband and I used a tow strap around the chest and a lot of pulling to get him turned around where he could get up. A horse can go from fine to gone much too fast.

I know the bond with a horse, I had a beautiful Appaloosa that I bought at 15 as a stud colt, and raised him until I went to West Point. My parents sold him and he became a police horse, I planned to buy him when he retired, but the sheriff's department "forgot" and sold him off. I never saw him again and I know he isn't around anymore, but I will never forget my horse.

At my graduation party

Watching him in a parade

I got to ride him while he was in uniform.

Thanks for the help, and yeah, we all have our skeletons. I think I actually have a graveyard, lol, but it's good to talk about it. I myself am an open book, as y'all saw earlier, lol

Oh no!! That's terrible. It's hard to loose an animal, especially 1 that you've raised since birth. I know how you feel, all my animals are like my children. Feel better friend :hugs

I'm so sorry to hear about your horse, BYC910. I lost my two babies this past year. They were 29 and 32, and even though I knew that was a good long life for a horse, it was hard to say goodbye. I know exactly what you are going through.

That is one gorgeous horse. How wonderful that they let you ride him.

My first horse was an App, too. She was a grey (white with dark grey below the knees and in her mane and tail) with a blanket. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED that horse. It's hard to explain how a horse gets under your skin and stays there for the rest of your life. It's different from the bond with a dog, or other pets, more personal, somehow, especially that first horse, and any that you raise from birth through adulthood or old age. It is heartbreaking to have to let them go, no matter the reason, but I wouldn't giive up the time we had together for anything in the world. Even the heartache is worth it.
