She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Well maybe you will find them when they start chirping!
Started with 32 eggs, 6 clear, 2 quit... so far, what I have left is 13 golden sebrights, 6 black tail buff Japanese, 4 silver duckwing OEGBs and 1 silver sebright.  :fl
And don't worry, I have been known to blow the thread up with pic every now and then...  :D
OMG!! I love the Sebrights, I like the white 1's with the black lacing. I wanted to get some of those but the only way to get them around here is eBay :(

Well, maybe by the time our shipathon rolls around.... who knows! I had 4 silver sebright eggs, but 3 were clear, so I'm really hoping the one fertile one hatches!

Thats incredible!
Also had an encounter with a red-tailed hawk intent on making a meal of one of my pen-raised quail.
I was working a young dog on a bird from my recall pen that I'd planted in the field. I didn't know it at the time, but Mr. Hawk was watching the proceedings. The dog, being green, busted the bird, chasing at the flush. Mr. Hawk grabbed he bird mid-flight, but when he saw me & the dog advancing, & me making all kinds of racket, he dropped the bird & got "out of Dodge", PDQ. I went to the bird, expecting to find it mangled, if not dead, but he was fine; not a mark on him. I put him back in the pen with the others and used him for some time after that.

I'd always thought hawks crushed their smaller prey in-flight with their talons; guess not.

That would be awesome! I really want some more banties. They're small so they take up less room and they are alot quieter. My poor little roos, they crow all the time but they are so small you can't hear them inside the house, they think they are impressive though, lol.

We just had a storm, and I went out to check on the tinies. Every one was in the coup except Tempest who was soaking wet spinning right round like a record. I brought her back in dried her with a hair dryer. She is back in the brooder now with her little friend the Cream legbar. I did have a 3rd, but he was creating merry hell and was trying to fly out. So he went back out with the others. It seems as if she gets worse when she is stressed. She was managing eating, drinking getting up and down the ramp in and out of the coop. The storm made her panic and she couldn't get out of the spinning. I am hoping she grows out of it. She seems to be able to adapt to cope to a certain degree. I really didn't think she would make it this long. She is a little fighter that's for sure. I will keep her in for the time being to monitor her better.

So sorry you have to deal with that... :/

Actually, I'm really surprised she still going, too... Tempest, eh? I have an Araucana named Tempe, lol...
