She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

That's one of the great things about working at home, unless I am on a video conference, I can LOL all day.

X 2 - I'm really lovin' this telecommuting thing.

Don't leave... some of us just had to actually do some real work occasionally...

That's true. It happens from time to time.

LOL - That's why I don't type much in the mornings.

That was a fun one. You deserved it

Nice job SC - Great parade, as usual.

DH headed north to Denver this morning, so it's me and the dogs and the chickens for a week.

Think I'll do a photo shoot of my keepers so I can have a record of what they looked like when they were young.

Hope to get my shelves up in the shed and the rest of the garden prepped for next year.

.

Also, I found that keeping 2 of the middle boys in the dominant order works better than the top male and a lower... I look for the 2 best that're also kinda 'buddies'...

As for color, if you aren't wanting splash really, then yes, make sure your main Am boys are black... I like a good blue, but getting consistent, even color and lacing is a pita as you can see from your grow outs...

You do have this, right?

My boys were raised together, and tussled as juveniles, but established an early pecking order and junior accepts his role. However, when my Narri tom moved in and started mating hens, the big guy had a real issue with that and had many bloody battles (his blood). The tom would just pin his head to the ground while grabbing his comb, and when he quit struggling he'd be released, then he'd get up and fight again. Not a quick learner...

And that color chart is cool, helpful, yet perplexing. Color genetics are interesting, more so now that I am hatching such a rainbow of colors from just a few selections of parent stock.

I like the BBS chart. It makes sense, and there aren't an overwhelming number of combinations

Would love to see some new pics, post some if you take some please.

Uh oh, I think mine is going out of town early next week. We'll have to have a GNO without them around! :gig

I have a EE/Leghorn mix pullet that only started laying about 3 weeks ago. Two days now I go home and she's in a nextbox making veloceraptor noises. I take her and put her on the ground and she just holds the nesting pose.

Can she really be broody!?
