 meg...What breed is in there?  LF?   That air sac actually isn't too bad.  I've had a lot worse with shipped eggs.  Seeing lots of movement?  When you lock down, lay the egg in between the saddle, with just a little bit of the higher one poking up..make sense?
They're Welsummers. So lay it down with the 2 points of the saddle on either side?

I have no experience with shipped eggs. Is that what it does to air cells? I've never seen uneven lines like that
It can, sometimes they look a lot worse.

if you want to fry my two and a half year old broody, have at it. I would guess you could find boot leather that would be more tender.

X2, the air cells look pretty good.

Some say to hatch them tilted upright in cut-down egg cartons, and then you can lay them down when they start zipping. Not sure it makes that much of a difference though.
