She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Smart girl!  The cynic in me wants to say:  If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Thank you... I've just learned to do my homework... pays off to know specific questions to ask to verify if breeds are what they claim... helped me to get some decent stock, lol... :)

I'm trying not to think the same thing.  Great idea Ravyn!

It's rare, but sometimes it happens... not often, but sometimes... :fl

K, I'll make to do that. I would like to find some more so I could breed them but I've looked and can't find any.

If they're true and you get them, I'll help you find others... :)

Shipped eggs are a double edge sword. I've learned my lesson that even when the sender say "I pack really well", ask them specifically how they pack. Good luck to your broody, though she probably doesn't need it! :p

Air cells were good, but not only being shipped making it difficult, but Araucanas are extremely difficult to begin with... I am happy I got 2... :D

Megan, be sure you familiarize yourself with the standard for Icelandics. My understanding is that there is not a LOT of uniformity. But, if they don't look like what your research shows you, walk away, b/c you are being scammed. You could also ask her to send you some pics of her parent stock. No sense taking the drive if they are not what's being advertised.

Um... I showed this to Hubby.  First he said:  You're in the wrong business.  Then, after thinking about it a bit, he decided that if I advertised Rent-a-Chick, I might end up with the wrong kind of customer!

Bahahaha sounds like my hubby.

I just found some eggs in Ohio for $36/dz that are legit so if this falls through, I may get those.

Probably wouldn't hurt to get a line on the supplier's track record, as well, possibly via the directory I mentioned earlier. Might not get anywhere, but it sure can't hurt to try.

K. Ever since I found them I've been searching amd reading up on them.

Do you actually have the space to keep them? Info I read says they would be miserable in a typical coop/run situation. Need room for ranging. I'm wondering if they're a bit high strung also. But, they sure are cute.

I have 6 acres, I'll need to fence something in for them since from what I've read they're on the smaller side and im sure the hawks would just love them but I have lots of room left.
