I'd make a pit and do a whole hog...and a bunch of wings...and maybe a brisket...and of course some sausage.

bothers pit is portable and will do a whole hog even carry a rick of wood . burn barrel on the front for burning down to charcoal pull it anywhere .all night party before the party . not as much trouble as digging a pit .what a house warming party that would be. been so busy I'm way behind . much more than normal. don't know nothing about nothing . if it could go wrong it did today. a little R&R in order tonight. after closing the brooder shed doors checking the incubator one more time. reading a thousand post . I might just do that .

It is always nice to find out over and over again, just how great BYC folks are. Last Easter Hatch A Long, I had some eggs sent to me that I had won during the New Years Day Hatch A Long, but had decided to get the eggs for the Easter one. Well, the eggs were late, there was a cracked egg, and an egg that was weeping..already! He offered me more eggs, he felt so bad about the hatch. I told him no..that it was the shippings fault. He even offered chicks. Yesterday, I get an e-mail wondering how the two that did hatch were doing. I had two boys..can't keep those for long, so they are gone. Again, he offers me more eggs, or chicks. This time, I took him up on his offer. I can tell this makes him happy. He is telling me most will be pullets. And, that they will be black, blue, or splash Marans, that is what he sent before. This guy wins shows with his birds..and his eggs. Should see the color of those eggs! What a gentleman he is. Did not have to do this. Have to say, I'm pretty excited for these babies to hatch. He said they will be hatching in about 2 and a half weeks. Works great, as I have some babies due in about 3 weeks. Love BYC people. Even the crazy ones.

I think the hatching in 2 1/2 weeks is the ones she's talking about getting- could be wrong, but that's how I took it. It confused me for a sec....lol

That's great!! You and SC, should do a marans hatch side by side. I was bidding for eggs on eBay and this person kept outbidding me. The price got to be ridiculous! I contacted the seller, who is also an active byc member and she offered to sell me eggs outside of eBay. I thought that was so cool because all of her auctions sell and she could have just said that I had to keep bidding or wait for another auction. She was super nice! Something about byc members makes me feel better about getting eggs.
