Congrats to those of you who have hatched out in the past week or so. Hello to the new names I see. 

Yes, things have changed. I needed a break, (still do) from things here and situations. I'm not ready to commit to being back just yet.

This thread has been a great place for people to get help and advice and I hope it continues to provide that, however, it will no longer function under the intention it was started for. I hope it continues to be a place that people can share differences, and I hope that the differences can be respected and that users can debate these differences without fear of being put down or attacked in the forum OR in pm. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a good debate kept on friendly terms. This thread was originally started for those DIFFERENCES to be shared. Unfortunetly when things are taken out of perspective, personalities can clash and cause problems. In our case that is the division of the star blue person and the star red person. So, to move on, we go our separate ways. Lot of great and knowledgable people here. Quite a few that I've missed over the last week or so. I want to thank those that pm'd me. I thought it was time to at least answer the "where are they" question. We may have ran off- but it was in totally separate directions. 

I refuse to throw underhanded barbs and feel the need to continue to put anyone down in this or any other public thread here, so after this I won't intentionally mention certain associations publically and hope I can be respected enough not to deal with it. I do look forward to getting back into BYC soon and catching up with a few people. I enjoy helping and miss the ability to do so.

Lol, yep! Doc gave me one thing, was supposed to do another thing, but did this other thing. I'm not complaining though, I got stuff done, finally! Now it's wearing off and I'm going to bed. mixedUPturk: Please never apologize for spending time away from anyone to spend time with your family. Especially parents with health issues. I wish I could send more than hugs your way. Glad you are getting to spend some time with him! Keep it up! My dad isn't doing too well, and hasn't been given too long(COPD etc.). Reality sets in more each day. We never had enough time together, and now life takes us from each other. Sorry, I shouldn't be sharing this here, but it's late, and I have no one irl to lean on cause i want to be strong for them. Da amn, y'all. It doesn't matter how old you are. .. losing a parent makes you feel like a helpless baby. Life SUX! It lets you mature just enough to really, really care about people and then drops them right out of your life. Slowly and painfully. Thankfully my husband doesn't understand, yet and I can't talk to him about it. I don't discuss it with my sisters either, b/c I know what's coming and want them to be happy for as long as possible. Man, I need some heavy drugs. lol Think I'm gonna go scrub floors and work out then an early run. Flock slepp. Who needs it? \ Night beauimux people

sorry about your dad. I still have both my parents, but I was their when my husbands father passed, and I took care of his mother on hospice. She had stage 4 cancer. It takes its toll. This might not help but just remember when they pass they are not suffering anymore. It SUX but just be by their side as often as you can an spend as much time with him as you can while he is still here.

I won't do any adjusting on the bator I'm borrowing; because I don't want to be resposible if it breaks. I'm new to hatching so I'm taking everything in. I hope the new smaller one will give me good hatches and more experience. The cabinet does ok but won't hold humidity well. It says 67% but my chicks are still shrink wrapping before they unzip all the way. If they had the same problem and they set it up....could it be them even though it's pre-set?? I don't want to pay 650$ for something I'm gonna keep having constant issues with. I've already paid him 150$ but told him to consider it rent/usage because of what it's doing and its not that old, but they set it up...all I have done is clean it when it first got here. Put eggs in, fill water, and use a wet cloth at hatch time to keep humidity up, my bantams have hatched wonderful, but have had to be assisted because of shrink wrapping. Even with higher humidity. Could it be reading the humidity wrong?? I've had 12 eggs shrinkwrap before I caught it and chicks died beak out totally glued in the shell. That's out of home stock. We won't talk about the shipped egg nightmare...that's not the Bator's fault!!! I had 3 of those die due to shrink wrapping, but mostly they just didn't develop...infertile/ quitters/addling/scrambled yolks on arrival, just to name a few.

You say 67% humidity... are you talking throughout incubation, or for the last 3 days? I would add a couple of hygrometers throughout the cabinet and check. Of course, verify them for accuracy before even putting them in there.

Well guys, I sold my lone turkey last night. A very nice man and woman, and their daughter came and took her away. They already had several other turkeys, so she is going as a pet, and not dinner! Yeah! Will probably do more dealings with them later on. They loved my lavenders and the new babies too. So it was sad to see Gemma go, but I think the lavenders will be happy to have her gone. She ruled the roost and even the big lavender boys, who are as big as her, wouldn't stand up to her. So I hope they will come into their own now.

All shipped eggs...all day 14 nothings...so dissapointed....collapsed air sacs/infertile / another leaker/ and exploded yolks.....ugh!! Dwindled my next two hatches down in the last 2 days..over half duds...hopefully I get something!!

GA, sorry about your Dad and his illness. It is very hard to loose a loved one, no matter how the circumstances play out. Especially hard since you don't have anyone to talk it out with. In both times of need and times of joy, I've found that my church family has stuck closer than a brother. Wonderful people. Would that be an option to help you meet that need???

I'm sorry!! That would have been a long trip for her. I tried finding a pair or a tom to put with her, just didn't have any luck. I might hatch more some day. You should hatch some!
