They are also called Italian Mastiffs. Police use them as drug and bomb dogs alot. They're a very big, stocky breed that resemble a mix between a Pit Bull and a Mastiff. They were used for large game hunting in the Roman Empire years and after that for bull baiting and after that they were used as livestock gaurdians and herding dogs. They are big and strong enough to take a full grown bull down to his knees so I'm sure he can handle the coyotes and foxes we have here, lol.Never heard of the breed. Is it new to this country?

Yeah, if they're quick & agile enough. They are also called Italian Mastiffs. Police use them as drug and bomb dogs alot. :/ good pointYeah, if they're quick & agile enough.
You might want to look into the Australian Shepherd. They're smaller, probably quicker, and a whole bunch cheaper to feed. I suspect they could give a fox a tussle; not sure about a coyote.I think, if I remember correctly, I've heard they are pretty fast and agile for their size. I would assume they are since they are used as LSGD's but I could be wrong.
Lucky you. Nothing good on C list here.
I was gonna say....it's an Italian breed of Mastiff, but Megan already did....lol Powerful dogs. Muscular. They are supposed to be even tempered though.Cane Corso? New one on me
Newfies are beautiful! The feed company that was beside the place we lived in for 22 years had a big beautiful newfie named Belle that would often come to the store with the son that worked there. Then I didn't see her for a while so I asked where she was and she had gotten out on the road and got hit. So sad!I try to avoid the dog area. I want another Newfoundland so bad I can taste it. Lol
