She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

When I candle again I'll take pics of the others with the 2 seperate masses. I never thought about it being weird that there was a blob beside the chick, I thought maybe it was normal cause with my last hatch everything was so hard to see that I thought maybe I just missed it. That and more than 1 of these is like that so I thought maybe it was normal.

That doesn't look right. It appears that the vascular system is shutting down. Maybe the "blob" is actually the clotting??? Wouldn't give it much hope.

Yeah, not something I'd want to experience either.
The pic doesn't really do the blood vessels justice, the veins actually look pretty good, they're on the left side of the blob and the right side of the chick. But the back of the egg has those weird wispy, smeared looking veins. I don't know what to expect with this. Maybe that's why these eggs were so cheap, maybe they're mutants and some weird genetic freak will come out :th lol

I may be imagining things, but to my untrained eye the 2nd picture looks to me like it could be a chick. I see what could be the beak, facing left, close to the veins
I see what you're saying. I think it's just the picture though. It doesn't really look quite like that in person.

This reminds me of something I saw on this thread a while back. I can't remember who it was that said it but someone had set some eggs and 1 didn't hatch so he cracked it open after making sure there was no movement and this weird blob came out and it was still alive!!! He freaked out and threw it in his Koi pond.

G'Night... 'bout to hit the road here... see ya all sometime tomorrow...

No!!! No pod chickens! Lol. I think if this 1 quits I may go in and see what that is. I don't like the idea but I think curiosity is going to get the better of me.

There ya go! I wasn't going to push you to do something you didn't want to, but you have ME wondering what is inside that egg!

Maybe they are all just double yolkers...which should never have been sold as hatching eggs...but with everything else that cheap egg seller did wrong, one more thing would be no surprise.

I'd have to open it. One of the reasons I do eggtopsies is I'm just naturally curious. I did not do them on my very first hatch and I have always regreted that. There's no question as to why they quit after lockddown, but I wish I had done them regardless.

I agree, I do eggtopsies on all my non hatchers.
