She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

You mean we'd actually have to talk about hatching?

I keep telling myself spring hatch season will be here before we know it...

I put in 3 dozen marans and olive egger eggs a couple days ago, so I should be getting my first hatch of the new year here before too long. And I have 5 two week old chicks in the brooder right now, so I'm starting to gear up. And I saw my bigger dark cornish breed my easter egger hen this morning, so it is time for me to get ready to start hatching out some meat crosses.

I'm not incubating now, but I incubated three times last year, so if you really want to know how to hatch eggs, listen to me. I put no water in the wells, and use a mixture of salt and chlorine to drop my moisture to 3%. My first two hatches were only 100%, but I was able to get my last one up to 117%. I added the infertile eggs from a previous incubation, and this time I gave them life. All hatches were assisted at day 27, using only a toothpick and iodine. I look forward to following this thread, because that blue team guy looks like a real tool

Hopefully I will have some olive eggers by spring. I have the pen set up, but the pullets aren't laying yet

Can't wait to see how they turn out. I need to get on your list for when you are ready to sell some Am's.
Yeah, I'm as anxious about this hatch as I was my first ever. The eggs they are laying are gaining size, so if this hatch goes decent, the next one should be even better. I may hatch the next batch for myself for some more program birds, but I'm expecting the incubator to keep running at least until it gets too hot. Sales died in July and August last year.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how they turn out
