X2 and I would up the temp a slight bit... eggs with thicker shells I run at 100 to 100.5 in forced air...

Perfect. I'll try that next time. I felt like I was getting the hang of incubating on the last batch, but this one reminded me I have a lot left to learn.

My next try is going to be on shipped eggs, so I hope I have a bit better luck.

It's a lot of trial and error, but you'll start getting a feel for it as you go... I prefer setting similar eggs per batch, makes for less issues...

When you say similar eggs. like all the same breed, or just similar shell thickness, etc? I'm getting 2 dozen silver leghorns, and was going to try to put in a couple dozen dual purpose/dark cornish cross eggs in with them. Although if I set 48 eggs, plus get my shipment of Ams all at the same time, I could be really over run with chicks...

Dang, I forgot all about your turkeys! They are really fun to watch hatch. Well, I only ever hatched one, but that qualifies me as an expert, right?

I prefer similar breed, but I mean similar egg size, shell thickness, coating, etc...
