Good morning!! I'm being lazy.. the kids stayed at my sisters, we went to an engagement party at a local bar last night. One of those.."We're not going to stay" deals. Next thing you know it's after midnight. Oh well, we had a good time.
I was surprised DH got up to go coyote hunting at 5:30am..

those kinds I don't get to do much of . go to parties or be lazy .Good man take them all out . seems like the more people move to the country the worse they get

I now have so much to do and should go to work today .

Dull as in personality or as in color? Mine had nice orange hackles as a juvie, but now is almost solid black.

Color/looks. That's why I like my mixes so much and the off varieties like the Polish and show girls and nn's cause they are different. My father thinks my barred rocks are just beautiful, I think they are boring and they have crappy personalities to boot...lol But they lay good. The three that my banty hatched out last year are just plain boring and so touch me not. If I downsize that coop this summer to make room for other's I want they are the first three that are going. lol

Wish I could donate... tried and it did not go well... sucks cuz it turns out I'm O- and RH-

Set a nice batch for Easter...

Looks like I'm incubating at 42% humidity . I'm thinking about putting a counter off a hay baler in to keep up with turning

turner is on the same side It was when I went to bed last night

I'm not sure how many times it turns in a 24 hr. period .

Pitched a Haybale yesterday

Hay bale gardening is quite the fad. That would be how I'd plan to use any haybales I come across.

Incubation time is getting close for me. Hoping to line up 2 shipments of eggs to set around 3/25. Supplying 3 doz hatching eggs for a gal next weekend. May purchase a couple dozen chicken eggs and 1/2 doz duck eggs from a local health food store (just for grins and giggles) My existing bator will hold 25 easily, have components to build a fridge-a-bator... or may safe some time and energy and buy a cooler from WM. They had a shipment of them for $15.

Here's the ?'s of the week. How many of you sell day old chicks? And if so, do you have any luck selling barn yard mixes? What kind of issues have you run into when selling chicks? I love to hatch. But my flock size is pretty good now. Culling a few this weekend. Of course I'll be raising up some replacement stock this season, but want to be able to sell the ones I don't keep.
