Oh!!! Ya mean I might get my pearl back!
I'll keep an eye out for it. (I thought it would just go to her gizzard and live there for as long as she does.)
It all happened in a split second -- I'd have thought these pearls were too big to swallow too. guess not. It made me think how funny she would look if I set a strand of pearls around her neck. Chicken jewelry.

For future reference, if a chicken snatches something from you the worst thing you can do is try to snatch it back. They will instinctively swallow it to keep you from having it; much like they do with another hen. I learned this lesson with Lilith the hard way. I saw the glass in her beak, so I tried to grab it.

Well now, there's no guarantee the pearl will still look like a pearl when the chicken gets through with it, but still....
