Did she spend more and more time in the nestbox? Could it be that she was broody?I know that it was Peach laying (attacker) because I would often see her in the nesting box and I’d retrieve the egg almost immediately when she left the box.

I’m 100% sure she’s not a cockerel! I’ll go out and get some pictures nowAnyone else thinking what I’m thinking......?
What are the chances you’ve got yourself a cockerel?? Could you post pictures of Peach?
What made you think it was this bird that laid?have three 30 week old Speckled Sussex. The one that pecked me is the largest and before the shorter days she was the only one laying, but has stopped with the shorter days.
